1. The photo was taken on Iwo Jima one of the volcanic islands in the pacific ocean where the United States pushed the Japanese back to Japan. It shows four U.S marines taking cover behind a rock while they detonate a Japanese position. The photo gives off an apocalyptic mood due to all the scorched shrubs and trees and earth.
